Meet Our Speaker

R. Larry Moyer
Born in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, Larry came to know Christ as a teenager. During college he served in two interim pastorates. He has earned degrees from Philadelphia Biblical University (B.S.) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.). In 2001, Philadelphia Biblical University awarded him the honorary Doctor of Sacred Theology degree (S.T.D). He is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry degree through Gordon-Conwell Seminary.
Upon receiving his Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1973, he entered full-time evangelism. At that time, he also founded EvanTell, a ministry committed to studying the Scriptures carefully and presenting the gospel clearly, of which he serves as President and CEO. The ministry has experienced steady and substantial growth under his leadership. EvanTell’s mission is to declare the gospel, clearly and simply; activate believers around the world; and prepare the next generation to reach the lost.
Larry’s ministry has taken him through the United States and to more than sixty foreign locations as a speaker in churches, area-wide outreaches, camps, pastors’ conferences, and seminars on evangelism. He is an evangelistic speaker for EvanTell’s Operation Friendship weekends which target the non-Christian. He is a regular guest lecturer in evangelism at Dallas Theological Seminary and at Word of Life Bible Institute in New York and Florida. He and his family reside in a suburb of Dallas, Texas.
Larry is also a writer, having authored books such as Free and Clear, Larry Moyer’s How-To Book on Personal Evangelism, Dear God, I’m Ticked Off, 31 Days with the Master Fisherman, 31 Days to Living as a New Believer, and 21 Things God Never Said. He has also authored several tracts on evangelism for believers as well as several designed for non-Christians and coauthored a discipleship program entitled Growing in the Family. He is a contributor to Biblical Sermons edited by Dr. Haddon W. Robinson and Leadership Handbooks of Practical Theology. He has written articles for Preaching, Leadership Journal, Kindred Spirit, Preaching Today, and Sermon Central. As in speaking, he is known for his ability to express his thoughts in a clear, interesting, and relevant manner.
